Albert Montgomery,Jr.May 31, 1934 ~ March 27, 2017 (age 82)
Albert Montgomery, Jr., 82, was born May 21, 1934 to Albert, Sr., and Arretta Montgomery in Memphis, Tennessee. He departed this life Monday, March 27, 2017 surrounded by those who loved him.
Albert moved to Muncie at an early age. He attended local schools, including Muncie Central, and worked for Ontario Corporation for over 30 years. He had a passion for cooking, especially barbecuing, known for his all day process and meat that fell off the bone. Albert also enjoyed restoring old cars and houses.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Patricia “Tishie” Montgomery, sons; Gregory Montgomery, Chris Graves Montgomery, and Tavis Corbin, daughters; Cheryl Graves, Alicia Montgomery (Ralph), Diana Kay Corthen (Michael), Delisa Harvey (Kenneth), Mindy Montgomery (Gerald), Shonda Abram, Dinita (Hayden) Smith and Delisa (Bruce) Fox, brothers; Donald Montgomery, Ronald Montgomery, and David Montgomery, sisters; Dr. Daisy Montgomery-Cook, Georgia M. Coles, Jane (Yessene) Dowell, Emma Jean (Melvin) Wolfe and Sandra Phillips; 35 grandchildren, 51 great-grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Albert was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon until his health began to deteriorate. Albert also held memberships with the Sportsman Bowling League, Widow Sons Lodge #22 PHA Affiliate, and the A-Town Riders Motorcycle Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Arretta Sartin, Albert Montgomery, Sr., and stepmother Lula Mae “Becky” Montgomery, a son; Connie Sims, daughters; Lori Beckley and Tammy Phillips, grandson; Jeremy Graves, great-grandson; Eddie Phillips; brothers; Monte Ledsinger, Robert Montgomery, Dwight Montgomery, Gary S. (Chester) Montgomery and John Montgomery; a sister; Virgie Montgomery, and special friends Irene Graves and Sandy Harvey.
The family would like to thank Viaquest Hospice, Caregivers Inc., and Golden Living Nursing for taking such good care of our loved one.
