Brenda Whitsett was born May 8, 1949 in Acmar, Alabama to Beanie Ager Russell. Brenda passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 21, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Newark, Delaware by her loving family members.
She was united in holy matrimony to Lee A. Whitsett in 1982. Brenda accepter Christ at an early age and was baptized at Faith Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late, Rev. James Fincher. She was a member of the usher board and could be found every Sunday at her post of duty. She was a faithful member until her health begin to fail.
Brenda graduated from Central High School in Fort Wayne. She was employed by troy Laundry for many years until her retirement in 1988.
Brenda leaves to cherish her memory sons, Michael (Brenda) Cole, Steven (Sheila) Cole, Curtis (Stephanie) Whitsett all of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Owens (Tabitha) Cole of Kissimmee, Florida; five daughters, LaVonda (Raul) Martinez of Kissimmee, Florida, Franjessica (Marsalis) Warren of Newark, Delaware, Diane Beachum, Thereasa Whitsett, and Stacie Whitsett all of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother, Willie Cole Jr. of Fort Wayne; sisters, Williedean (Jimmie) Barnes, Betty (Clarence) Golden, Mary Morton, Sandra (Tyrone) Campbell, and Josie Cole Wattley all of Fort Wayne; twenty four grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, two brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Lee A. Whitsett; biological mother, Beanie Ager Russel, second mother, Josie Cole; brother, John Robertson Sr.; sisters, Evelyn Cole and Emma Cole Smith.
