Dorothy Dean (Burton) Boutte`February 16, 1940 ~ May 9, 2017 (age 77)
Dorothy Dean Boutte` was born February 16, 1940 to Madge (Holland) and William Burton, Sr. in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina. She attended elementary and high school in North Carolina. She also attended North Carolina A & T.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church, under the leadership of Pastor Roy Olsen for over 50 years. She was employed by Fort Wayne State Development Center and retired after 40 years of dedicated service.
She was united in holy matrimony to Norbert Boutte`, Jr. and unto this union five sons were born. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
“Mom” as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren was a courageous and strong woman who would offer guidance and wisdom to many. She had a loving spirit her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. They treated her with honor and respect. They knew that she always did her best. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at her residence surround by her loving family. She will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory, five loving sons, Shawn (Leticia) Boutte`, Lawrence “Butch” (Yulonda) Boutte`, Tony Boutte`, Lance Boutte` and Andre Boutte`; six sisters, Sue Alease Burton, Barbara Irene Rogers, Patricia (James) Redmond, Wilma (James) Hunter, Roberta Burton and Gloria Burton; 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert Boutte`, Jr.; grandsons, Dario Boutte` and Antonio Boutte`; parents, Madge and William Burton, Sr.; brothers, Charles Burton, Ira Burton, William Burton, Jr. and James LaSalle Burton; sister, Cora Askew.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Emmaus Lutheran Church.
