Ernest "Scrap" JohnsonJanuary 18, 1950 ~ May 22, 2017 (age 67)
Ernest "Scrap" Johnson was born January 18, 1950 to Gertrude (Underwood) and Ludi Johnson in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He received his heavenly wings on Monday, May 22, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
He accepted Christ at an early age at Christ United Methodist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Smith.
Ernest was better known to all as “Scrap” or “Scrapino”. He went to Wayne High School and worked for Kroger’s Warehouse, long enough to buy him a Cadillac. Scrap loved everybody and was known to give everyone a nickname. He had his own vocabulary. His favorite saying was “let me be Scrap” and he loved to go fishing. He was one of the best dressed in Fort Wayne.
Scrap leaves to cherish his beautiful memories: sister, Cora Johnson; brother, Ludie “Tubby” (Paula) Johnson; cousin/ brothers, Michael Underwood and Henry “Breeze” Underwood; special cousins, Shirley Holman, Gertrude Underwood; uncle, George (Betty) Underwood; aunt Artella (L.C.) Jackson; two daughters, Aundria Allison and Latosha Allison; two grandchildren and one great grandchild; stepdaughter, Nani Harrington; a life long close friend, Lynette Scroggins; nieces, Terri Lynn, Ann, Stephanie, Kiwanna and Denise; nephews, Damion, Korta and D'Angelo; and a host of great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ludie and Gertrude Johnson; sister, Betty Tolbert and brother, Curley “Skitchie” Johnson.
