Essie Mae Springer was born August 5, 1925 to Robert and Birdie (Hurd) Hawkins, Sr. in Pine City, Arkansas. She made her transition on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. She fulfilled her earthly purposes and claimed her reward in heaven through the promises of Jesus Christ.

Essie was employed by Orchid Ridge Country Club and retired after many years of dedicated service. She was married 57 years to the love of her life, Charles Springer, Sr. He preceded her in death in 1999. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children and grandchildren.

Essie leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Charles (Elayne) Springer, Carl (Anita) Springer and Paul Springer; daughters, Charlene (William) Carr, Elizabeth (Robert) Springer-Perry, Callie Baylor, Essie R. Edwards and Thelma Springer; brothers, Nelson (Pauline) Hawkins, Roosevelt (Odessa) Hawkins and Robert Hawkins, Jr.; sisters, Georgia Butler and Reather Winfield; godchildren, Cab Morris and Gregory Ackerson; friend, Wallace Wash; 24 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Springer, Sr.; daughters, Louise Haywood-Brantley and Doris Mae Springer; parents, Robert and Birdie Hawkins, Sr.; brother, Ruthers L. "Pig" Hawkins; sisters, Geneva Morris, Pearl Davis, Willie Mae Hendrix and Lannie Menuard.
