Kenneth D LeeNovember 27, 1962 ~ June 2, 2017 (age 54)
Kenneth "Kennie" Lee was born November 27, 1962 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was the son of the late Kenneth Lee and Claudia (McKinney) Flynt. Kennie confessed Christ at a young and united with Greater Progressive Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. H.O. Baker. Kennie was a prayer warrior who loved the Lord. In 2001, Kennie accepted God's call and was ordained into the ministry. During his life of service, Kennie produced and directed Exhortation and Praise television ministry and also served as a bible study leader, food bank worker and psalmist. His anointed voice will surely be missed by all.
Kennie attended Paul Harding High School and was employed by News Sentinel, the Veterans Administration Hospital and the Department of Social Services in Fort Wayne. He also worked at the Non-Commissioned Officer's Club at Charleston Air Force Base in Charleston, South Carolina.
Kennie loved to travel and resided in Indianapolis, Indiana, Phoenix, Arizona, Charleston, South Carolina and Goldsboro, North Carolina and eventually settled in Newport News, Virginia. At every location Kennie actively served in the ministry.
From cooking, to drawing, to decorating, to songwriting.. you name it, he could do it. Kennie was anointed to do many things however, what he enjoyed doing most was singing. In his early years, Kennie was lead singer of Fort Wayne's very own Profile Band. During that time, he had the opportunity to open up for a host of celebrities performing in the city, to include: Mtume, Renee and Angela, Millie Jackson, Roger Troutman, Tony Terry and CeCe Peniston.
On Tuesday, May 24, 2017, God saw fit to call Kennie home and into the eternal rest for which he'd long prepared. Memories of Kennie will be cherished in the hearts of his sisters, Vicki Lee of Dayton, OH and Rachel (Lee) Green of Yorktown, VA; uncles, Bobby McKinney of Fort Wayne, Elbert (Lorraine) McKinney of Saginaw, MI and Otis McKinney of Aurora, CO; aunts, Joyce McKinney, Louise McKinney and Mae Hughes all of Fort Wayne; nephews, Damond (Jeannette) Lee and Christopher Lee both of Indianapolis, Randall (Shakera) Montgomery of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Lee "Tiger" Green of Yorktown, VA; nieces, LeToya Lee of Indianapolis, Kelsey Green and Miracle Green of Yorktown, VA; great nieces and nephews, Mya Lee of Indianapolis, Kayleigh Green-Newsome of Yorktown, VA, Rahmer Montgomery and Tyshawn Montgomery both of Fort Walton Beach, FL; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Lee and Claudia (McKinney) Flynt; brother, Tony Lee and stepfather, Ned "Tommy Terry" Flynt.
