Peggy Ann (Hoagland) BridgesNovember 13, 2017
Peggy Ann Bridges was born on February 13, 1938 to Sarah Ann (Irby) and James Hoagland in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She departed this life on Friday, November 10, 2017 at age 79.
Peggy, affectionately known as Peaches was a resident of Fort Wayne her entire life, and she was a graduate of Central High School. In her earlier years she found great pleasure in many athletic activities, one of her greatest past times was being a majorette, twirling her baton all over the city of Fort Wayne.
She married William Bridges the love of her life in 1957. She and her husband were faithful and loyal members of the Southern Heights Baptist church, under the leadership of Rev. Otha Aden. Together the shared fishing and cooking as a passion that bonded them even more. They were fortunate to have forty-four wonderful years together, until he was called home to be with the Lord in 2001.
Peggy leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Tina Lynn (Arnold) Stone of Kokomo; two sons, Ronald Lee Bridges and Gary Terrel Bridges both of Fort Wayne; siblings, Jerry (Debbie) Hoagland of Indianapolis, Shirley (Roy) Wright and Carlotta (Roland) Boyd both of Fort Wayne; 25 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bridges; sons, William “Hoppy” Bridges Jr. and Larry “Coke” Bridges; parents, James and Sarah Ann Hoagland; sister, Jewel Prosser and best friend of seventy-five years, Ethel Mae Pierce.
