Wade “Shorty” Martin was born May 28, 1941 to Dave and Bessie (Bishop) Martin-Johnson in Marion, Alabama. At an early age Wade moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana where he graduated from Central High School in 1961.
Wade worked at Fort Wayne Foundry Lima Road Division, along side his brother L.C. They both worked there until they retired after thirty years of service.
He leaves to cherish his memories his son; Tyrone (Carol)Thomas of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughters, Michelle (John) Stephens of Birmingham, Alabama, Debora Randall of New York, Laurie (Stanley) Malles-McCall of Phoenix, Arizona, Stacey (Booker) Jones of Atlanta, Georgia, Lisa Jackson of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Aimee (Jason) Bender of Leo, Indiana; brother, L.C. (Carolyn) Martin of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sisters, Adeline Irby, Rosie Chapman, Artelia (L.C.) Jackson all of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mattie (James) Ridley of Eads, Tennessee, and Shirley (Doug) Wade of Florida. Also, to cherish his memories fifteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and a very special friend Betty Williams.
Wade was proceeded in death by his parents, Dave and Bessie Martin; sister, Delphia Tubbs; brothers, Robert Martin, Roosevelt “Jake” Johnson, Ludie Johnson, Frank Johnson, and Tony Johnson.
