Brandon Ray ColemanFebruary 23, 1991 ~ October 23, 2017 (age 26)
Brandon R. Coleman was born to Amber I. Coleman on February 23, 1991 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Brandon was separated from his mother who passed at his early age of 5 months old.
As a child Brandon was a joyful toddler, very determined and strong willed. You could often find him watching his favorite Barney T.V. show while enjoying a plate of bacon. His love for Barney may explain his favorite color of purple. He also loved to roller skate, when he wasn’t creating made-up games to play with his cousins Zachary and Malik.
Brandon participated in Tae Kwon Do and was as proud as a boy could be to receive a certificate as proof that he officially had “Ninja Skills”. If he wasn't wearing his Tae Kwon Do belt he was wearing his favorite pair boots, six sizes too large, which gained him his childhood nickname "Bootsie."
Brandon attended R. Nelson Snider High School in Fort Wayne, IN his freshman year before moving to Colorado Springs, CO in 2006. Upon relocation to Colorado, Brandon attended Fountain-Fort Carson High School in Fountain, Colorado and graduated in June 2009. Brandon attended the University Colorado, Colorado Springs where he was studying to obtain his bachelor's degree in Business Finance.
Brandon joined the Armed Services March 8, 2010 enlisting in the Army, Brandon completed basic training at Fort Jackson South Carolina and AIT at Fort Lee Virginia. His next Duty station was Fort McNair in Washington, DC followed by service at Fort Myers of Arlington, Virginia. Brandon ended his Army service in the 4-10 Cav, FFST, 3ABCT 4ID Fort Carson, Colorado where he was a Specialist E-4 and loved cooking in his job as a Food Service Specialist. He was enlisted and served for over six years. During his career in the Army, he toured for six months in Jordan. He received and honorable discharge from the Army December 18, 2016.
Brandon is survived by a cousin and mother figure, Tara Williams of Fort Wayne, IN; a companion Teyaira Green of Chicago, IL; two brothers, A’Doness Brown of Fort Wayne, IN and Christopher Ruff of Beloit, WI; three aunts, Valerie, L. Williams of Lexington, KY, Charlene Green and Delores Mudd both of Fort Wayne, IN; four uncles, Derrick (Sherry) Cox of Fountain, CO, Kevin (Yolanda) Mudd, Everett Coleman both of Fort Wayne, LaVon (Carla) Coleman of Colorado Springs, CO; one niece, Sophia Brown-Blair; and a host of cousins, loved ones and friends.
Brandon was preceded in death by his mother, Amber I. Coleman; grandmother & guardian, Veronica Cox; grandfather, James D. "Tiger" Coleman; uncles, Charles L. Williams Sr. and Vernon B. Mudd.
