Catherine M. Rowles was born October 9, 1929 to Floyd (Holman) and John Rowles in Moundville, Alabama. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Lutheran Life Villages.
Catherine accepted Christ at a young age. She was employed at the Travel Lodge for many years. Later in the mid-1980's, she worked at the Day Care Center, The Ginger Bread House.
Catherine was united in holy matrimony to Robert E. McCoy on November 29, 1952 in Mississippi. They relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana, after they were married. Unto this union one child was born a daughter who preceded her in death shortly after birth.
Catherine took on the role of being a parent to her sister Inez's daughter, Vera B. Rowles-Lymon whom she called her daughter, Lather in life she took responsibility to help raise her brother Robert children as well , with the exception of Mark Rowles, who was also looked upon as a son.
She leaves to cherish her memories one brother, Clearance Rowles of California; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert McCoy; parents, John and Floyd Rowles; brothers, Rev. Robert Rowles, James Rowles, William Rowles, Charles Rowles, Edward Rowles, Fred Rowles, and Ed Rowles; sisters, Inez Holly and Mary Estell-Hope; and niece, Vera B. Lymon.
