Drake Amir Wells was born July 19, 1997 to Annette Wilkins and Eldridge Wells in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He departed this life on Sunday, September 30, 2018.
Drake had a smile that lit up the room. He loved spending time with his brothers, sisters and cousins. He was very athletic and had a passion for football. He was an outstanding football player. As a child he played for Metro Yoth Sports League. He also played at Miami Middle School, Bishop Luers and South Side High School.
He was a loving father and was very active in his children’s lives. He loved them more than anything in this world. His memory will live on through the life of his children.
Drake leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Kamari Drake Amos and Avion Mendoza; mother, Annette Wilkins; father, Eldridge Wells, Sr.; one brother, Eldridge Wells, Jr.; six sisters, Mytresha Smith, Marquessa Ewing, Nadia Williams, Nazaria Gates, London Walker and Nakeema Gates; paternal grandparents, Miranda and Henry Williams; maternal grandfather, Claiborne Wilkins; special friend, Jasmine Evans; and a host of aunts, unlces, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Isabella Wilkins and paternal grandfather, Alonzo Wells.
