Our dearly beloved, a faithful servant of the Lord, Elder Henry O'Neal Clayton Sr., peacefully transitioned from
earth to glory on Saturday, July 21, 2018, into the arms of his loving Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born July 18,1936 in Montgomery, Alabama, and moved to Anderson, Indiana, as a youth.
Elder Clayton graduated from Anderson High School. He was employed by General Motors for 35 years before retiring. He gave his life to the Lord as a young man, and was a dedicated elder of Greater Light Church.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 60 years, Edna Ruth; four sons, Thomas Ashley of Middletown, Anthony Clayton and David Clayton, both of Anderson, and Robert (Yvonne) Clayton of Fort Wayne; five daughters, Shri Vonne
(Daniel) Beard of Kokomo, Joyce (Earl) Strong of Fort Wayne, Elaine (Ron) White of Muncie, Nina (Dante) Shaw and Esther Kenner, both of Indianapolis; special aunts, Dorothy McGhee and Gloria Smith, both of Fort Wayne; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great host of other relatives, church family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Henry O. Clayton Jr.; daughter-in-law, Lovell Ashley; and granddaughter, Andrea K. Goodwin.
Burial in Maplewood Cemetery
