Floyd Owen Prince was born June 28, 1957 to Ruby (Owens) and Robert Prince in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at the age of 61.
Floyd united in holy matrimony to his childhood sweetheart Verna M. Wright on September 15, 1983. They celebrated 35 years of marriage the day before his death. He was employed at Hipskind Concrete for 33 years.
"YSHO" as he was affectionately called by family and friends, enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was loved dearly and will truly be missed.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Verna Prince; two daughters, Chiemeka Price and Dynasti Price; grandchildren, Quavionne, Quashaune, Lai'La, Quavontre and Imerie; four brothers, Cleo Prince, Floyd Prince, Phillip Prince, Michael Prince and Bobby (Jametra) Prince; seven sisters, Diane (Theo) Gray, Joanne Harris, Barb (William) Davis and Maryann (Anthony) Walker; Shlanda (Shon) Little, Yolanda Brown and Ella (Fernando) Espinoza; sisters-in-law, Jean (David) Perry and Willa Etta Brown; four adopted sons, Bobby Brown, Mark Honor, Darie (Shanta) Forrest and Tim Washington; three adopted daughters, Melissa Derickson, Megan Carbaugh and Toyo (Jeff) Tanner; special cousin, Christopher Wallace; special niece, Ruby Kenya Prince-Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert B. Prince; mother, Ruby Prince; brothers, Sonny Prince, Robert B. Prince, Jr., Kenneth Prince and Brian Smith; step-mother, Mary Prince.
