Jimmie Lee Davis, Sr. was born on Friday, June 17, 1955 to Louise (Barnfield) and Lucius Davis in Uniontown, Alabama. He departed this life on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at his home.
Jimmie was united in holy matrimony to Annie Pearl Strother and unto this union three children were born. He graduated from Robert C. Hatch High School in 1974. He worked at Parkview Memorial Hospital as a supervisor for over 20 years. He also worked at Dana until his health declined.
Jimmie was baptized in April 1995 at Shiloh Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Albert A. Walker.
To many he was known as “Jimmie Lee”. He enjoyed shopping, loved to dress to impress, decorate, collect knick-knacks and travel. However, his most prized possession was his canary yellow Cadillac.
Jimmie loved to spend time with his family, friends and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His wife Annie Pearl of 42 years was his pride and joy.
Jimmie leaves to cherish his loving memories a devoted wife, Annie Pearl Davis; son, Jimmie L. (Amanda) Davis, Jr.; daughters, Lillie (Anthony) Miller and Lakendra (Chris) Nelson all of Fort Wayne; brothers, Charlie (Lagronia) Davis, Joseph Davis, Mack (Shilane) Davis, Sr. all of Fort Wayne, and Henry Williams of Alabama; sisters, Mamie (Ellis) Howard of Fort Wayne, Lucy (Juinonia) Carter, Sylvia (Scott) Jackson, Catherine Smith, Diane Braxton, Susie (Lee) Caldwell, Rebecca (Joe) Daniels and Debra Pitts all of Alabama; brother-in-law, Claiborne Wilkins of Fort Wayne; 16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucius and Louise Davis; sisters, Isabella Wilkins and Rosie Lee Smith and sister-in-law, Andrea Davis.
Jimmie Lee will be laid to rest in Davis Family Cemetery in Uniontown, Alabama on Friday, April 6, 2018.
