Josephine Elizabeth (Petrie) Allen was born on June 29, 1944 in Fort Wayne, IN to Altimore and Betty Ruth (Gamble) Petrie. She departed this life into eternity on Wednesday, September 26, 2018.
She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. Prior to her illness she was an active Evangelist Missionary at Oakridge Temple C.O.G.I.C. She also served on the State Fine Arts Board and the Aspiring Missionaries for the Third Jurisdiction.
During her illness Evangelist Missionary Josephine Allen remained devoted to her God and the C.O.G.I.C.
She graduated from Central High School and continued her education at IUPU, Helen Faye Charmaine Charm School, IVY Tech and Fort Wayne Bible College. She was an Administrative Assistant with experience in banking, educational, manufacturing, transportation and government office environments.
Josephine married the love of her life William Allen, Jr on July 2, 1966. Elder Allen loved his wife like Christ loved the church. They shared 52 wonderful years together and were blessed with three children.
Josephine loved making floral arrangements and decorating cakes. She enjoyed reading and singing from her hymn book. She adored family dinners and especially the holidays. She was a great Godly exampled and led her family closer to Christ.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory: a devoted husband of 52 years, Elder William Allen, Jr.; daughters, Kyra (Greg) Smith and Katrina Allen; son, William Timothy Allen III all of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren, Kamari, Jazmen, Brittani, Enga, Carnell and William “Willie”; sister, Omintha Petrie of Yellow Springs, OH; step sister, Zelma Louise Petrie; special best friends, Louise Norton, Vernell Woods and Mother Martha Harris
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Ruth Rencher; father, Altimore Petrie; and stepfather, Lincoln Rencher.
