Marqus Edward Springer

June 17, 1983 ~ June 1, 2019 (age 35)

Scouting Report A Moment in our Arms . . . . A Lifetime in our Hearts

Marqus Edward Springer was born on June 17, 1983 to proud parents Carl and Anita Springer. He was loved by everyone who encountered him since that summer day. Marqus brought sunshine and warmth everywhere he went.  Marqus fun-loving nature was full of life who had an “old soul”. As a child he loved hanging with his grandparents and eating donuts. (We knew he was special when he got his late grandparents, Charles and Essie Mae Springer to drive him to Krispy Kreme when the donuts were “hot”).

Marqus always carried a comical demeanor.  He was always telling funny stories and uplifting others.  His loving and kind hearted nature was frequently shown to numerous friends and family members who adored him deeply.  Marqus cousins doted on him every chance they got and he was the official ring bearer or Jr. Groomsmen in many family weddings.

Marqus created lifelong friendships and was affectionally known as “Bones”. Marqus truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending time with family and his goddaughters, watching WWE, reminiscing with his bike club “Iron Fist” and being an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers “#Steelernation Boi”.  Marqus relished in “talking smack” with those who were not fans while waiving his “’terrible towel”.

Marqus accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Greater Progressive Baptist Church. Marqus was a 2002 Graduate of R. Nelson Snider High School and obtained his certification for Heavy Machinery and Welding from Job Corps of America in 2004.  Marques was employed by Faurecia USA.

Marqus received the ultimate touchdown in heaven and received his wings of victory on Saturday, June 1, 2019.

He leaves to celebrate his life, his loving and supportive parents, Carl and Anita, adored big sister Chanel (Justin) Hedgecock;  admired nephews, Cortney Brooks, Jailan and Cameron Hedgecock, gracious godparents, Callie Baylor and Curtis Baylor, his aunts, Charlyne (William) Carr, Essie Edwards, Elizabeth Perry, Callie Baylor, Thelma Springer, Jean (Matthew) Davis, Louise (Chuck) Steele; his uncles, Charles Springer, Jr., Willie (Becky) Brooks, Joe Brooks, his godsiblings, Stephanie Steele-Middleton, N’Gai Baylor-Gold, Marwan Baylor, his goddaughters, Neveah Sanders and Le’lanie Kennedy, lifelong friend, Candy Bair and special friend, Trina Morgan  and a host of cousins, extended family and friends.
