Mary Alice (Jones) HatchFebruary 3, 1926 ~ November 22, 2017 (age 91)
Mary Alice Hatch was born February 3, 1926 to Martha Williams and Aaron Jones in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a former member of Greater Progressive Baptist Church for 20 years and later moved her membership to Southern Heights Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Otha Aden. Doing the Lord's work was her passion. As a Sunday School teacher that passion came into fruition seeing the children grow in the knowledge of God.
She was married to Charles J. Hatch for 63 years and unto this union two children were born Carlos and Shirley.
She was employed by Fort Wayne State Developmental Center and retired after many years of service. She was also employed by Vincent House Homeless Shelter.
On Wednesday, November 15, 2017 she quietly and peacefully went to her eternal home with the Lord. She was a loving wife, mother. grandmother and friend; whom will be greatly missed.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Charles J. Hatch; son, Carlos F. Hatch; daughter, Shirley (special friend, Darrell Gatson) Scott; god daughter, Deborah Smith; cousin, Arlene Story; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Jones; father, Aaron Jones; sister, Clarise Ruffins; a cousin whom was more like a brother, H.C. Story; and son-in-law, James Scott.
Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery
