Ruthie Jay Robinson was born April 24, 1939 to Bessie (Cook) and James Robinson in Forest, Mississippi. She departed this earthly life on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 11:30 am surrounded by her loving family.
Ruthie accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age at Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was united in holy matrimony to Robert Freeman for 39 years. To this union six children were born.
Ruthie was no stranger to hard work. She was employed by Indiana State Developmental Center, Arbor Glen Senior Living, Village Woods Nursing Home and Freeman’s Tea Room; where she was an amazing cook and excellent baker.
Ruthie enjoyed cooking, sewing, shopping, traveling and talking on the phone for hours with her sisters and friends. She was loved dearly and will truly be missed.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her two sons, Bobby Freeman and William Kevin Freeman; four daughters, Charlene Freeman, Teresa Freeman, Regina McCullen and Nancy Pettaway; three siblings, Olivia Robinson of Fort Wayne, Hattie Eley of Las Vegas, NV and Leslie Wilson of Victorville, CA; 27 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bessie Robinson; daughter, Anita Robinson-Davis; brother, Walter Robinson; sister, Louise Freeman; three grandchildren, Javarius Freeman, Tanika McCowan and Deon Williams.
