Thornell Vernard McCall was born September 10, 1957 to Carol Ann (McCall) Hawkins and Thomas Guy in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was called to be with the Lord on Friday, August 24, 2018.
Thornell accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He graduated from Wayne High School. He was a proud employee of Johnson Controls for ten plus years. While working at Johnson Controls, he was also a part of the UAW family.
He loved being around his family and enjoyed being the family comedian. We all knew that if Thornell was at a family function, there wouldn’t be a dull moment. He was the life of the party.
Thornell was a people person, he didn’t meet any strangers. He was that person that you could count on. He was slow to anger and very humble. He never said a bad word about anyone, he always tried to put things into perspective and put a positive spin on a situation. He had a passion for music and the Oakland Raiders.
He leaves to honor and cherish his memory his daughters, Terri Lamb, Shelly Chapman and Nicole Seiss; mother, Carol A. McCall- Hawkins; father, Thomas Guy; brothers, Arthur McCall, Jerome Hawkins and Bruce Talley; sisters, Pamela (Percy) Ford, Diane (Stacey) Wattley, Samatha McCall, Chandra (Nelson) Hawkins and Ra-Nelle Pearson; companion, Ocie Burton; special grandchildren, Dexter Lamb and Tiera Lamb; six stepchildren; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
