Wardell Lockett Sr., departed this life at 1:43am on April 27th, 2019 in Fort Wayne, IN. He was a born to the late Lodell Lockett Sr., and Johnnie Mae Lockett in Jackson, Tennessee.
Wardell was baptized at an early age. He attended Southside High School where he excelled in basketball. During his highs school years, he met the love of his life, Sharon Lockett. They later married and went on to have four children together. He was self-employed throughout his life. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his children, family, & friends.
He is survived by sons, Wardell (Angela) Lockett Jr. of North Carolina, Detrick Wade Sr. of Michigan City, Geoffrey (Talishia) Lockett Sr. of Indianapolis, MarQues Lockett and Da’Non Lockett both of Fort Wayne; daughter, TyJus Lockett of Fort Wayne; brothers, Jerry Lockett Sr, Alfred (Marie) Lockett Sr, Raymond Lockett, Lodell (Annette) Lockett, Willie Lockett, Tommie (Danita) Lockett Sr, Oartell Lockett Sr. and Joshua Lockett; sisters, Yvette (Keith) Anderson and Gwen Leshore; 16 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; good friends Connie Smith, Yolanda Williams, and Larry Turner; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lodell Lockett Sr and Johnnie Mae Lockett; mother-in-law Delores Fulmore; sisters, Patricia Craig, Cora Lee Wilkes and Mary Woods; brother, Contrell Lockett Sr; granddaughter, Britt’ney Lockett and great-grandson, Jaiden Larry.
