Ancie (Shannon) Davis
March 19, 1931- July 7, 2022
Ancie Davis was born March 19, 1931 in Sardis Alabama to Robert Shannon and Alberta Steele. She was united in marriage to Elijah Davis Sr. in 1947. They relocated to Chicago, Illinois and later to Fort Wayne Indiana in 1951.
She was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend John Dixie and Reverend Sam Shade Jr. She later found a new church home and family, Light of the World Church under the leadership of Reverend Cornelius Hill. She was very happy with her church home until her untimely death.
Ancie leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Elijah Jr (Joyce) Davis, Alvin (Tracy) Davis, both of Fort Wayne, Charles (Brenda) Davis of Wichita Kansas, three daughters, Larine (Jessie) Swain, Sharon Davis and Linda Davis all of Fort Wayne Indiana, one sister, Robbie Shannon of Selma Alabama , one brother, Calvin Shannon, one adopted sister, Virgil Mae Smith, 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
Service is 11:00 am Saturday, July 16,2022 at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 1331 Gay St. Viewing is from 10:00 to 11:00 at Pilgrim Baptist Church.
