Bettie M. Harden was born January 17, 1931 to Martha (Fields) and Johnny McAlpine in Boligee, Alabama. She departed this life on Sunday, September 13, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at her daughter's residence.
Bettie accepted Christ at an early age at Springhill Baptist Church in Boligee, Alabama, under the leadership of Rev. Charlie Jennies. She employed by Fort Wayne State Developmental Center and retired after twenty-five years of dedicated service..
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her daughter, Ethel Mae (Roosevelt Sr.) Collins; sons, Johnny (Jennifer) Harden and George Harden, Jr. all of Fort Wayne; sister, Isabell Hines of El Paso, TX; goddaughter, Sarah Key of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Harden, Sr.; son, Linzell Harden; daughters, Joyce Ann Harden and Valerie Lynn Harden-Parhm; grandsons, Laquentin Harden and Roosevelt Collins, Jr.; parents, Johnny and Martha McAlpine; brothers, Augusta McAlpine and Henry McAlpine; sisters, Dessie Sterling and Addie Walton.
Bettie will be laid to rest next to her husband in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
