Donnie Ann Kelley, 82 yrs. old, died Thursday morning at Canterbury Rehabilitation. Donnie was born May 26, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the youngest daughter of Lucille Kelley. Donnie was a graduate of Central High School. She was employed at the Fort Wayne newspaper for 33 years.
Donnie loved black history, music and speaking Spanish. Her favorite phrase was “uno momento” and also “I’m not alone”. She loved animals, Dr. Pepper, barbecue, and chocolate ice cream.
She leaves to cherish her memory 1 son Virgil Kelley, 1 daughter Nyla (Jihad) Shabazz; 5 grandchildren Johnell Kelley, Jaleel Shabazz, Angel Kelley, Tariq Shabazz, and Amar Shabazz; 3 great grandchildren Arianna Kelley, Vivianna Kelley, Julianna Kelley and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Preceding her in death was her mother and daughter Crystal Kelley.
