Henry Lee Cole was born 7/5/44 in Stringtown, Mississippi to Emmitt and Mattie Cole. He went to be with the lord on Sunday morning 3/5/2023. He died at home in a praying position where he appeared to be praying to the lord. Henry came to Ft. Wayne in 1968. He worked for Sterling Casting, Home Guard, Lincoln Life and State School. He met Gayle and her son William Vic Terry III in 3/1976 and married her on 1/1/1977. Next came his son Henry Travell Cole. Henry was a real laid-back easy-going person. He liked shooting pool, working out and staying strong and being a jokester. After retiring in 2007, he joined Gayle with some of her hobbies like going on casino bus trips, etc., Henry loved his family and especially becoming a grandpa. He was also proud to be known as a mentor to some of the young men he encountered. His sons’ friends. Henry also added a special son, Tracey Brookshire, and a special daughter, Chenea Williams, and he always had a special friend, James Smith.
Henry leaves to cherish his memories; his wife of 46 years, Gayle. Son Henry Travell Cole, stepson William Vic Terry III (LaShonda Terry) 2 grandkids Jakari and Laila Cole, 2 step grandkids Jaidan Williams and Jarkyus Philogene. One sister, Ora Lee Nix of Greenville, MS, One Brother-in-law, Warren Y Thomas (Mary Ann). Four sisters-in-law, Evonne Thomas, Patricia McGown of Fort Wayne, Jacqueline Brooks of Indianapolis and Ruby J Owens of Olive Branch, MS. And a host of other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, 3 sisters Lizzie and Mattie Cole and Lucille Twillie, 3 brothers; Emmitt Cole of Ft. Wayne, McKinley, and David of Mississippi. Also his parents-in-law Clarence and Rosa Thomas. Sister-in-law Louise Thompson and brother-in-law Clarence Dewitt Thomas.
