Jerome Coleman Hawkins was born to the union of Carol Ann (McCall) and Thaddeus Jerome Hawkins, Sr. on May 20, 1972 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior in 2007.
“Roni” as he was affectionately called by his friends attended R. Nelson Snider High School. He befriended several people during his many years of employment with Peg Perego and most recently Faurecia.
Jerome enjoyed fishing, listening to music, admiring old school cars, and most of all hanging out with family and friends, He was outgoing with a wonderful personality and spirit. He also was a people person who met no strangers,
Roni was the life of every party; even though he got put out of most of them. He was also an “Impressive Dresser” with his own type of SWAG. He kept a nice pair of “Clean White Shoes “on.
Jerome was the youngest of seven; however, he took on the role as the “Protector” of them all. There are no words to describe the “Love” Jerome has for his mother! And yes, everyone was aware Jerome could do no wrong in her eyes.
Jerome was blessed with two children J.C. and Destany who he loved with every fiber of his being. On Saturday, May 15, 2021, Jerome transitioned into eternal rest with our Heavenly Father in heaven, he joined his father, Thaddeus J. Hawkins, Sr., and brother, Thornell McCall.
His legacy of love will be forever cherished by his mother, Carol A. Hawkins; son, J.C. (Kayla) Martin; daughter, Destany Martin; brother, Arthur McCall; sisters, Pam (Percy) Ford, Diane (Stacey) Wattley, Samantha McCall and Chandra (Nelson) Hawkins; grandchildren, Malaeya, Jason, Trinity, and Ryder; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and friends.
He will be deeply missed, but his beautiful legacy of sheer love will continue to grow through everyone he encountered here on God’s earth.
