King McGaw, Jr. was born September 23, 1948 to Farrie B. (White) and King McGaw, Sr. in Memphis, Tennessee. He departed this life on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
King attended Hanna Grade School, James H. Smart, Jr. High, and graduated from Central High School in 1967. On January 9, 1969 he enlisted in the United States Army. He served one tour of duty valiantly in the Vietnam War and he was discharged on May 19, 1970. Upon his return from war, King worked at Edy's Ice Cream and an architectural firm.
King loved listening to jazz, taking walks, and watching the world news. He had a smile that was infectious! King was an amazing son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who genuinely loved and cared for his loved one..
He leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Marshall McGaw of Fort Wayne; aunt, Hattie Silas of Memphis, TN; nephew, Kamari Patterson of Aubrey, TX, niece, Afrika Patterson of Fort Wayne; cousin, Patricia Redmond; childhood/special friends, Eugene Devbrow, Glen Bailey, Bill Boyd, Tom Boyd, Trent McGee, Robert Murphy, Marvin Carswell and Roger Miller; special home health aid, Quavondra Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, King and Farrie McGaw, Sr.; brothers, Charles McGaw and Darryl Patterson; and cousin, James Redmond.
