Nathaniel Burton, Sr. was born in Aligator, Mississippi, April 3, 1951. He was raised by Nona and Ed Burton. He moved to Fort Wayne after graduation.
He was a welder by trade and later worked at Dana Corp, where he later retired in 2002. In 2004, he started his first business, Burton Lawn Care and later on started NBJ Management which was still in operation until his death.
His greatest passion was his friends and his vehicles. He love to travel and going to casinos. He was also there for all his friends and relatives, never turning anyone away.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Vera Burton, his son Nathaniel Burton, Jr, his daughter Ashley Burton; his mother, Daisie L. Hopkins, Nona and Ed Burton; brother, Ruben Earl Hall, Jr.
Nate leaves behind to cherish his memory: his grandchildren, Whitney Davis, Nathaniel (Tel) Burton, III, Telika Michael, Iesha Looper, Savannah Coleman; 12 great grandchildren he loved dearly; four sisters, Patricia (Roy) McGown, Carolyn Hall-Wilson, Linda (Tyrone) Weaver, and Joyce Hall; a brother, Charles Hall; a companion, Evelyn Smith; extended children, Tracee Smith and Holland (Jeremy) Smith-Granger; extended grandchildren, Ashlee Smith, Ivan Smith, and Savannah Smith and three extended great grandchildren.
