Ruth “King” Fluker was born May 17, 1935, in Sprott, Alabama, to the late Rita “Rutledge” and Roy King. When she was a young girl, her family moved to Mobile, Alabama, and in 1951 she and her mother moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana. Ruth continued her education and was a graduate of Central High School.
Early Sunday morning, July 25, 2021, answered to her name when God dispersed his Angels.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 58 years Jimmie E. Fluker of Fort Wayne, IN; one daughter, Rita Fluker-Brown, two sons, Joseph L. King and Kevin L. (Pansy Wilson) King, both of Fort Wayne; grandsons, Tyrone Fluker, Kevin Brown, Jr. and Torrey D. Wilson all of Fort Wayne; granddaughters, Corita Fluker and Sasha M. King of Fort Wayne, and Lynley L. (Michael) Moses of Missouri City, TX; six great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Walter Fluker and Earl (Ollie) Fluker both of Decatur, GA; sister-in-law, Dr. Edwina (Tony) Autrey of Coffeeville, AL; a dear cousin, Cathosine “Toppie” Stopes; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rita Rutledge Jackson; father, Roy King; stepfather, Major Jackson; sister, Ruby Louise King; grandson, Kevin Lewis Wilson; nephew, William King, Jr., and nieces, Mary Delores King and Joyce Marie King.
