William Eddie Branch transitioned from this life into eternity on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, after an extended illness. He was the third child born on November 10, 1948 in Muncie, IN to the late Francis and Marie Branch.
He professed a hope in Christ at an early age. He was affectionately called “Bubba” by his family and all of his close friends called him the “Colonel”. He spent a lot of time talking with his special friends, Mr. Howard Miller, Patricia Montgomery, and Jerry Thompson.
He graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1966. He served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1966 -1970 and was honorably discharged.
William loved people and he would go the extra mile to help you if he could. He enjoyed listening to music, watching cowboy movies, riding around town in a clean car and he was also well known as a sharp dresser.
He united in marriage to Marsha Hart on April 26, 1997 and they have been happily married for the past 24 years. He was employed and retired from Norfolk & Western Railway. He enjoyed being a crossing guard after his retirement, for the Muncie Community School Corporation. William and his wife have been members of Destiny Christian Center for more than 18 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted wife, Marsha Branch; four sons, Darrin Burns, Danny (Joyce) Burns, and Jason Boykin all of Muncie and Lewis (Lori) Boykin of Noblesville, IN; one brother, George Robert Breathette of Lithonia, GA; four sisters, Frances Henry, Pamela Pratcher both of Lithonia, GA, Teresa (George) Huggins of Lawrenceville, GA and Roselyn (Jesse) Branch-Leavell of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Cynthia Mann.
